I’ll be writing a proper entry here, hopefully, later today.

Meantime, for those who picked up the recipe for sausage and bean cassoulet from yesterday’s comments,  please be sure to read the thing again — first time round, I forgot to say about adding liquid.  Yeah. I know. Mea culpa and all that… :-)

Good Morning. Hey I understand that.

btw would you tell me how you get video’s from you tube? I didn’t want to give them my password to my blog.

Here’s a goodie: if it works.

My mother gives me recipes that are missing thngs. I am sure she wants to remain the queen bee of cooking and baking, and so she sabotages my efforts. That way I can remain in awe of her secrets and skills.

Bonnie: I’ve answered the youtube thing off list because it’s specific to xanga.

Gary: Your mother sounds my kind of gal and you should certainly retain that awe. I promise however that when I leave things out it’s because of a faulty brain. :-)

Well, regarding recipes, I don’t really care about small omissions. Usually good sense will prevail as long as all those old synapses are firing properly. And, John, that photograph is gorgeous, awe-inspiring and just plain elegantly wondrous! Thank you. Love the sepia tone.

Is this for us, John? An elelgant bouquet of flowers in case your recipe goes wrong? Oh, it’s beautiful, so thank you! :-)

As luck would have it, my can of stewed tomatoes seems to have provided enough liquid. I want you to know the result was so very good that, in the interests of social responsibility, I’m afraid you’re going to have to label it Sinful Cassoulet. Thank you, John. I do love sinful food.

I just looked at one of my mom’s recipes which she gave me. Not a single measurement. She scoops and pours, tosses and stirs as she writes ‘until it looks and tastes right’. That’s the art of cooking. I came across one of my great-grandmother’s recipes (look at what you got started here, eh John?) which was precise and easy to follow, but my mom had lost her own copy. I called and teased, joked, teased some more. You should not tease your mother. She can get icy. I read her the recipe.

Have all my items for the cassoulet, John. Preparing it for tonights supper. Can’t wait to dig in and according to CBG Dee, it should be fabulous!

As per Gary above…learned your lesson, eh??? :)
