Let it snow

Graham’s been pining for a white Christmas tree for years.  I’ve been avoiding a white Christmas tree for about as long.

So, on Saturday, we went and bought a compromise — a green tree sprayed with white ’snow’. And then, yesterday, I got sent out for my shopping while he put it up.

Best pleased he was not.  Apparently the thing practically exploded from the box, covering the entire living room floor with ’snow’, and was still shedding the ghastly stuff every time he touched it.

“This was a mistake,” he said. “You were right. I was wrong. Instead of dumping the old tree, we’ll dump this one right after Christmas.”

Actually, now it’s dressed, it’s very pretty. Not, perhaps, so pretty as a classic green tree when it is dressed, but we enjoyed it yesterday evening while watching Buffy and, this morning, in the sunshine, it really shines.

We could do without the shedding ’snow’, though.
