There was a sharp ground frost first thing this morning, which lifted into a thick mist as soon as the sun came up over the rooftops. Our run of sunny, calm days continued, however, so it was on with warm tops and yard boots and out into the back garden for the first tidy-up of the year.
“I want a bigger garden than this in the next place,” Graham said as we sat down for a coffee break when the job was done.
“That’d be nice.”
“With a patch where I can grow a few veggies.”
“That’d be nice, too.”
“And a proper water feature.”
“That’d be…”
“Yeah. I know. Nice.”
And so we sit by the kitchen door, sipping quietly at best quality espresso, and wondering what the future may bring. And when.
For me, particularly when.

I think a small vegetable bed would do wonders for your joints.

oh for a glimpse at the crystal ball that would tell us these things. It must be soon. But then, at least it’s a question of ‘when’ as things are in motion, not the ‘when’ of being stuck in a rut and only beginning to climb out.

That would be all very nice indeed. Sort of a shiny future for you both, just like your freshly painted front door which is very nice indeed too!

That sounds like a lovely future garden (especially the veggies).

Will the garden include a spot to sit in the shade and sip lemonade? To enjoy the smell of flowers and a refreshing sea breeze? Heaven!

You’ll get there.
Enjoy the quiet sip of coffee in the sun in the meantime.

That Graham certainly is the industrious sort.
Really send him over here I have plenty of space and maybe he would build a privacy fence between us and the messy house. lol

Will the entire back garden be a catio?

Oh, I would imagine Dolly would really love that! Lots of room for her to stretch her legs and hunt a little, or just stretch out on sunny days and do a bit of lolling in best catly fashion.

It’s rather nice having the entire back garden catio-d, and that’s what we’ll do if we can. It’ll depend on the situation of course. Dolly does love a good long mooch on a nice sunny day–you should have seen her out there today!

I can’t wait for fresh home grown veggies once again. Some sunshine would be nice as well.

Glad the Vogons didn’t get you, and that you are merely switching venues.
