Another day of quiet industry. Graham tore himself away from the back garden for long enough to post off his most recent eBay sale but apart from a very rapid pass through Sainsbury’s he demanded we return immediately so he could continue.
And there was me thinking I’d trapped him into a Sainsbury’s all-day mega-brunch breakfast. Hey ho. I’ll keep working at it.
I did however manage to pin him down on the question of how was shall manage the house hunting in Wales, when it comes to that stage. The plan is for me to go ahead, stay in a guest-house, hotel, and keep at it until I come up with one or two likely propositions, and which point Graham will join me for a final decision, just as we so successfully did when we went to Lincolnshire. The thinking just now is that I should centre the search on Machynlleth but that’s something that may change. Is likely to change. So far we’ve considered New Quay–too touristy, Aberaeron–ok, and Aberystwyth, with several points in between.
It’s looking less and less likely that we’ll be right on the coast–prices are too high. It does however look to be perfectly possible to find a cottage or small house in a rural setting not too far from the sea. That’d suit me, especially if there are mountains in the view.
My day was concerned with setting up a Freecycle collection for an over-grown Philodendron house plant. The first arrangement fell through after an enthusiastic start so I went for the next one on the pile, concluding just now as we waved the dear old thing away into the sunshine. The plant, I mean. The taker was a dear old thing, too.
“Tell you what,” I said as we sat down for our late morning coffee. “Let’s Freecycle everything we’ve got and start over fresh, just you, me, Dolly and a laptop.”
“You’re mad, you are.”
