After yesterday’s dawn till after dusk activity, we made today over into a day of rest.
More or less.
Between a little lightweight website fiddling I did my bare minimum of chores, to put food on the table and to keep the coffee and tea flowing. Graham made some new cushion covers, having raided the big stack of remnant materials he acquires for just such jobs whenever we visit IKEA or Laura Ashley or Oldrids or wherever they have those big boxes of end of roll curtain and furnishing fabric, significantly reduced.
“What do you think of this?” he says, holding up a piece of something which, in the flat, is likely to resemble rolled-out cat vomit in strange colours.
My answer is invariable: “It’s horrid. How much is it?” And, on being told the price: “It’s beautiful. Let’s grab it quick before someone else does. Is it coffee time yet?”
Today, though, there was none of that. IKEA, Laura Ashley and such had to do without our company today. We all had a day of rest.
