We’ll be alright

Thursday July 14, 2005

All our preparation done, today was the day when we sat back and enjoyed. Much chat, and laughter, and no more than a few short periods of “are you sure you’re going to be alright?”

Graham has been right round the house, inside and out, making sure that everything is in order. “Are you sure you’re going to be alright?”

I’ve been right round the house, inside and out, making sure that I can reach and manipulate everything that needs or might need to be manipulated. “Are you sure you’re going to be alright?”

We laughed over the sight of the new pond filter after dark, which glows with an eerie green light from the top inlet connector, showing that the UV bulb is functioning. “Looks like a miniature alien city from Mars.”

We laughed at my ecstatic reception of a few rolls of thunder and a very short heavy shower. “You’re as daft as a brush.”

We chatted over lunch, over tea and over dinner, and we sat glued to a silly slice-and-dice horror movie last thing.

And so, all Graham’s stuff for the trip packed neatly into two soft cases, to bed. “Are you sure you’re going to be alright?”

Yes, we’ll be alright.
