“It’s a shame we couldn’t have completed on the house today instead of tomorrow,” I remarked.
“How’s that, then?”
“Summer solstice. Longest day and all that. It would have been significant in a Druidic kind of way.”
“You do talk a load of tosh sometimes.”
“I know. It’s all a matter of not having enough to do.”
“Well, longest day or not, it’ll only be twenty-four hours before we get going once more.”
“There’s no reasoning with you today. Put your feet up, why don’t you, and make the most of it.”
So I picked up the book I haven’t been reading for a couple of weeks now, put my feet up, and didn’t read it again. No point having the longest day completely free if you don’t celebrate some way. I chose to celebrate by having the longest nap.
